The Gustavus women?s basketball team will host its Play 4Kay Breast Cancer Awareness game Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Bethel University. Tickets purchased by those in attendance wearing pink will profit breast cancer research and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Previously known as the WBCA Pink Zone, the Play 4Kay initiative will remain intact: a nation of coaches raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.

Student fans at Saturday?s game will also have the opportunity to partake in the Gustie Student Fan Zone from noon to 1:00 p.m. Pizza will be available with multiple activities such as face painting, Polish Golf, Bean Bag Toss and Volleyball to name a few. At 5:00 p.m., hot turkey sandwiches, veggies, fruit, chips and brownies will be served.
As is tradition at Gustavus, the final home game of the regular season is designated as Senior Day and a special tribute is made to the individuals who have dedicated themselves to the Gustavus women?s basketball program for the past four years. This year, the Athletic Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to this season?s seniors: Molly Geske, Ava Perry, Colleen Ruane and Liz Shay.
The Gustie women enter Saturday?s match-up at 18-6 overall and 16-5 in the MIAC, which has secured the No. 2 seed in the conference playoffs and a first round bye. The Royals have compiled a 14-10 overall record and 12-9 mark in the league, which has also secured a playoff berth.
